Maluku Indonesia General Information

Maluku Indonesia province is one of the oldest in the history of Indonesia. Maluku archipelago made up of known as the Moluccas. This Maluku the provincial capital of Ambon. This archipelago consists of 632 small and large islands. The biggest island is the island of Seram.

In addition to the area known as the thousand islands, the Moluccas are also rich in cultural diversity and abundant natural wealth. One of the natural wealth of the world famous Moluccas is spices.

Climate contained in the Moluccas is tropical and muzon, being surrounded by islands and vast ocean. Moluccas boundary includes the northern borders of North Maluku province, south by the state of East Timor and Australia, the western border with the province of Southeast Sulawesi and Central Sulawesi, in the east with the province of Irian Jaya.

Maluku islands have historically consisted of the Islamic kingdoms which controls the islands. Therefore, Maluku named derived from the word Al-Mulk, which means Land of the Kings. This area is expressed as the province with seven other regions; Kalimantan, Lesser Sunda, East Java, Central Java, West Java, and Sumatra.
