Kukup beach is one of 15 beaches located in the tourist area of Gunung Kidul coastal reach 70 kilometers in length. Besides Kukup other beaches are scattered in mountain areas such as rock Baron Beach, Beach Gesing, Ngobaran Beach, Beach Krakal, Sundak, Along Beach, Beach and Coastal Wediombo Ngandong.
Pantai Baron, Kukup, Krakal, and Wedi Ombo is a white sandy beach. Sand on the beaches comes from the rock fragments, pieces of sea animal skins, and shellfish species, since the South Sea is part of the Indonesian Ocean, inhabited by many different types of fish and sea animals, including fish and rare marine biota, like the green turtle.
Kukup beach is located about 40 km south of Yogyakarta and across Wonosari. Kukup coast has beaches and natural scenery are very beautiful mountains. White sandy beaches yellowish also has caves that sheltered reefs, and sea-water ornamental fish are attracted. If you wish, visitors can ride to the edge of the cliff on the beach between the Baron and Kukup through the path.
Not far from there Kukup Beach fish market selling fresh fish dishes. The concept is similar to Muara Karang in Jakarta, where visitors can choose their own seafood and cooked to desired taste of each.
