Kidal Temple

Kidal temple is Singosari Kingdom Temple relic was built as a tomb Anusapati, Singasari second king, who died in 1248. This temple is attached to Garudeya stories, stories of Hindu mythology which contains a moral message of liberation from slavery.

Kidal temple has a unique structure. Andesite stone into the main composition of this building. This vertical  temple looks slim because the body is smaller than the temple area of the foot and the roof. The roof of the temple consists of three levels of increasingly smaller over the top with a large enough surface unadorned roof like a typical temples of Hindu and Buddhist.

Kidal name probably derived from the shape of the temple tomb decoration Anusapati unusual. Generally decoration especially reliefs on temple is paradaksina, which in Sanskrit means a clockwise direction. However, in the decoration of this temple is prasawya, which means counterclockwise.
