Bandung City Government target to provide 16 000 units of hotel rooms in 2016 to offset the estimated demand for tourist accommodation services at the time.

Bandung Mayor Dada Rosada proposed number of hotel rooms in Bandung reached 11 650 as of August 2010, with a total of 269 hotel units. He assessing need as much room anymore for 4350 reached 16 000 rooms in 2016.

“The need for hotels in Bandung was higher in line with increasing numbers of tourists visit to Bandung,” he explained in his welcoming speech at the Bandung Hotel Amaris Cihampelas today.

He said the number of guests staying at hotels in Bandung in 2009 to reach 3.09 million people in the past. According to him, there is a slight increase of 70,000 persons from the target number of guests staying in the year 2009 as many as 3.02 million people.

“Occupancy rates are high, especially going on the weekend. Nearly all the hotels fully occupied,” he said.

Bandung City Government claimed to greatly helped by the arrival of investors in the hotel business because of the Bandung city in line with the mission of boosting the tourism sector. However, he requested that hospitality investors Bandung constantly coordinating with the municipal government, particularly in implementing the city of Bandung as a dignified service.

He mentions a tree planting program and release of birds to a natural area that is part of Bandung City Government policy in the city also preserves the quality of the environment. Emerging development, he explained, lest it damage the environment.

“Therefore if any, shall have any opening or planting trees. There is no day without the planting of trees in Bandung,” he said
